Halloween is right around the corner and it is so hard to come up with costume ideas that are both cute and original. I am here to help you come up with fun ideas and ways to execute them!
Another huge factor into a college student’s Halloween costumes is the affordability. This Halloween all the hot girls are wearing cute yet affordable costumes. We are ballin’ on a budget this Halloween and the list down below makes it so much easier!
Cowgirl
We are starting off simple and easy. It’s very easy to piece together a cowgirl costume with basic clothing pieces you have in your closet. I personally would wear a white tank top and blue denim shorts. I then would tie a flannel around my waist as an accessory. This next part makes or breaks the costume, the cowgirl boots. I know not everyone owns a pair of these but if you go to a college in the South, you probably have multiple pairs of these laying around. The next optional part is a cowgirl hat. This helps spice up the outfit and make it extra trendy. I personally would wear my hair in two braids to really sell the look but that is completely optional. Although this costume idea is simple, it’s a great last minute idea.

Jenna Rink 13 going on 30
This idea is very original and not commonly seen! I think this is such a cute twist on the Y2K theme that has been going on for the past few years. It’s a super affordable costume as well. I found on amazon the iconic dress and the butterfly choker that perfectly accompanies the whole outfit. Shoes are completely optional but I personally would pair it with a cute pair of hot pink kitten heels (to make this costume cheaper just wear a pair of shoes you already own!). For the hair, an up-do with some butterfly clips would COMPLETE this outfit!
Olivia Rodrigo Sour Album Cover
This next idea is both trendy and cute. Pairing a light pink fuzzy tank top with a plaid light blue skirt would perfectly mimic Olivia Rodrigo. Also adding fun stickers to your face would help show what your costume is. I personally would pair this whole outfit with white combat boots but that is up to you!
Sandy from Grease (Baddie Version)
This was one of my FAVORITE movies growing up so I feel like it is only appropriate to add to the list of halloween costumes. This can also be done so easily and keep it affordable. First I would start off with a pair of leather leggings. On top I would add an all black off the shoulder crop top. For shoes it would be so on brand to wear bright red stilettos but if that’s impractical for your Halloween plans, I would just stick to red converse instead. For the hair it would only be right to do voluptuous tight curls with a side part. To seal the deal, I would add a red lip. It’s important to purchase a long lasting smudge-proof lipstick so it will stay on all night.
Dark Witch
I remember while growing up witches were so common for halloween. I feel I haven’t seen it done in forever so now is the perfect time to bring it back. I also think doing a “dark” take on the witch costume would make the costume itself look a lot more classy and mature. I would achieve this costume by wearing a silk black dress with some mesh black gloves. I would finish this costume off with any form of black shoes along with a black witches hat. I would also add my own personal touches by adding on some black jewelry but this part is completely optional.
Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph
I have personally never seen this costume done so I thought it would be a great and unique idea. The most important part would be to get a long sleeve teal top. If you live in a colder place feel free to get a cropped teal hoodie. The cropped teal hoodie would be more realistic for the costume but I know it can get hot at college parties. I would then pair that top with a dark brown skirt. To really seal the deal on this costume, I would purchase some candy hair clips to add into a high ponytail with a red scrunchie. Another optional part of this costume is adding on teal tights to really look like Vanellope.
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader
Every time I see this costume done I always think it’s so adorable. You can find everything you need for this costume on one link from Amazon. The accessories pair perfectly to fully complete the costume. In addition, I would pair the outfit with a pair of white cowboy boots.
Aquamarine
This is a not very common costume but still cute nonetheless. It is fairly simple as well. I would start off with a criss-cross short body-con teal dress. To accessorize the costume I would add some teal synthetic hair clips along with starfish earring. That’s it! Easy and cute!
Buzz Lightyear
This next idea is another link where you can purchase everything at once. In my opinion this costume is a little more revealing but if you love it, GO FOR IT! It is so cute and trendy and if you want some more coverage feel free to add a pair of tights underneath. I think this costume is so fun and if you want to do this costume with friends they can be other Toy Story characters alongside you!
Oktoberfest
This last costume, Oktoberfest, I barely ever seen done but it’s definitely becoming more popular! It’s affordable and unique! You can purchase every part of the costume together with the link below. It’s a cute German style dress with many accessories. I personally would style my hair in two pig-tail braids but that is completely up to you! If you’re a big beer drinker in college definitely pick this costume because you will fit right in!
